AI Workflow Design Matrix, Building Block Comparison, and Framework Terminology Update

Two new reference pages and a terminology overhaul across the framework — making it easier to classify workflows and choose the right building blocks.

AI Workflow Design Matrix

The AI Workflow Design Matrix is a new reference page that combines two dimensions — Autonomy (Deterministic, Guided, Autonomous) and Human Involvement (Augmented, Automated) — into a 3x2 matrix of six workflow archetypes. Each cell includes a description, real-world example, and link to the corresponding worked example. Use it to classify any AI workflow and find the right implementation pattern.

Building Block Comparison Matrix

The new Building Block Comparison Matrix is a side-by-side reference for all building blocks — what each one does, when to use it, and how they combine. Useful when you know what you want AI to do but aren't sure which building block fits.

Framework Terminology Update

The Business-First AI Framework now uses a cleaner two-dimension vocabulary across all pages and skills:

  • Autonomy: Deterministic → Guided → Autonomous (replaces the old three-category system)
  • Human Involvement: Augmented vs. Automated (replaces Interactive/Autonomous/Hybrid)

This affects the Analyze, Design, and Build pages, all three worked examples, and the Business-First AI plugin (now v5.0.0).
