Plugin 8.1.2: one clear rule for autonomy
The framework now uses one rule for the autonomy level, and the Analyze and Design skills apply it the way the AI Workflow Design Matrix teaches it: look at what decides the next step. Deterministic means you give instructions, and the AI’s output never changes what happens next, even when it writes inside a step. Guided means you give bounded decisions, with your method: the AI uses your rubric or criteria to route an item, choose a tool, or grade work and send it back. Autonomous means you give a goal and the AI plans its own steps.
Involvement is now about taking part, not the trigger: a workflow is Augmented when a person is in it along the way, and starting a run by hand no longer counts. Design gained reference cases to calibrate against, and the sample Analyze reports and example pages were reclassified under the rule. Also in 8.1.2: the registry setup skill says “the Claude desktop app” instead of Cowork.
